Japanese Breakfast is the lo-fi pop solo project of Michelle Zauner, lead singer and guitarist of the emo rock band Little Big League. Her new album, Soft Sounds From Another Planet (Dead Oceans) carries a sort of soft, cosmic, shoegaze vibe. Although a remake of Little Big League’s song “Boyish” is featured, Zauner seems to have completed her evolution from emo rock to lo-fi pop.
