World Maculelê Arts Foundation hosts a celebration in support of its latest class of capoeira graduates from teh Southeast. Hundreds of guests of all skill-levels from around the world, including 89-year-old world-famous capoeira master Mestre Joao Grande descend upon Decatur. Attedees can enjoy capoeira, music, and cultural art workshops and performances. The event follows the City of Decatur’s “Mestre Fran Day” (Oct. 25), honoring Mestre Fran for his service to the community. Donations are encouraged and support Camp Sunshine, which provides support to children battling cancer.
