With its second, self-titled album, Toronto twosome Crystal Castles moves beyond the broken Atari noise of its debut to flesh out a more expansive marriage of electronic pop and weary, industrial beatscapes. Ethan Kath and Alice Glass glide effortlessly between an abstract stomp and rave-like serenity that reveals a damaged yet naive sensibility lying at the heart of it all.
