There are many avenues leading to the music and voice of country singer and songwriter Elizabeth Cook. She hosts the popular “Elizabeth Cook’s Apron Strings†show on Sirius XM satellite radio’s Outlaw Country channel. She also occasionally provides the voice for the character Tammi on Cartoon Network’s “Squidbillies.†And then there’s her music: Cook commands a killer combo of torchy twang and slow-burning soul that makes her one of the sharpest voices in modern country music. Her new album, Exodus of Venus, is her first since 2010’s Welder, and it’s so good to have her back.
