After dropping four solid full-lengths through Hardly Art, unpredictable duo La Sera released Music for Listening to Music to in March via Polyvinyl. The label shift marked yet another adventure in the effort started by Katy Goodman (Vivian Girls). Its paradoxical murky, effervescent songs marked La Sera’s major leap from Goodman’s solo project to a collaboration between herself and her husband, Todd Wisenbaker — but with Ryan Adams producing, making for a helluva threesome. The married couple co-wrote all the songs and took turns with vocal duties, highlighting their sonic synergy and just how good — literally — it blended on an actualized record.
