More specifically Project Genesis focuses on renegotiating Ervin’s origins as a Black man who has no coherent ties to his past. Since this past is not readily available to him he offers his own version to the world. Ervin presents a reality that speaks to the man he wants to become, firmly grounded in the traditions of his past.
