From the venue:The Faint debuted in the mid-’90s but formed an identity around sonically mixed signals with its 1999’s sophomore album, Blank-Wave Arcade. The Omaha, Neb.-formed synch-mangled band fed its pre-millennial tension biting the black-nail-polished hand of post-punk and new wave. Over the last 15 years, Crystal Castles, Cold Cave, Savages, and others have carried the torch. But even at its most clinched and sputtering the Faint stands out as persuasively danceable. On Doom Abuse (SQE Music), the group filters more anxious throb, so expect to sweat another personality hole into your Gary Numan T-shirt.
