Najee, Bobby Caldwell, Euge Groove, and Brian Simpson

Friday July 11, 2014 08:00 PM EDT
Cost: $25-$75,

From the venue:

Folks who exclusively associate saxophonist Najee with the world of smooth jazz are doing themselves and the artist a major disservice. Sure, he’s been a fixture on the smoother side of adult contemporary radio since dropping his debut album, Najee’s Theme, in 1986, but with R&B/soul-infused tunes in his catalog – such as “My Old Friend” – and years spent on the road with icons like Prince, the Grammy-nominated musician follows more in the traditions of George Duke than, say, Kenny G. Judge for yourself when Najee hits town Sat., July 12.
