From the venue:

Matt Haimovitz’s October 14 appearance with ATL Symphony Musicians promises to be something completely different: fresh, singular, engaging. Haimovitz has spent his life exploring inside and outside the classical repertoire box. Through his artistry, audiences are discovering a whole new range of color, tone and expression in the cello. Haimovitz’ concert programs include works by Jimi Hendrix as well as Bach. The program, at Dunwoody Methodist Church, features Josef Haydn’s Cello Concerto in C Major, a collection of Baroque and contemporary works for solo cello. Richard Prior, conductor, composed Elegy for Aurora which is also featured on this program.
