After announcing the March 18 release of Underneath the Rainbow, the follow-up to 2011’s neatly lo-fi Arabia Mountain, Atlanta’s garage-punk kings crash the Drunken Unicorn on Tues., Dec. 31, for a rowdy New Year’s Eve spectacular. Complete with delightfully obscene antics (some chronicled in this year’s Middle East tour documentary Kids Like You and Me), Black Lips’ swaggering blend of psychedelic riffs and dirty Southern spirit should make for a noisy (and boozy) start for 2014.
