Hoops & Loops: Crocheting Basketball Nets
From the venue:
Join us in the gallery to learn how to crochet basketball nets for empty hoops in your neighborhood! Learn crocheting by participating in a national community craftivism project, NCAA Net Works. In this project — which is featured in MODA’s current exhibition, Making Change: The Art and Craft of Activism — craftivists from all over the country create vibrant hand-made basketball nets for empty basketball hoops. From Bayung Mardika to Pittsburgh, these nets have brightened communities with their creativity and functionality. Let’s join the fun!
While participating in this workshop, you’ll learn the basics of crocheting and work together to create basketball nets to contribute to this community craftivist project.
Appropriate for ages 14+. Please reach out to the facilitator, Jess Lewis if you have questions or accessibility needs.
