Dahlonega is a very special authentic Appalachian town and the entire public square is filled with holiday magic during the season. Dahlonega’s Old Fashioned Christmas is a month-long celebration held from November 23rd through December 23rd 2018, set in motion with the Lighting of the Square. A real home-town parade officially bringing Santa to town occurs the first Saturday in December. Plenty of other festive holiday events continue almost daily throughout December with caroling, a holiday market, carriage rides, visits with Santa, entertainment, wine sampling and live theater Christmas events.
