Richard Goode, piano and Sarah Shafer, soprano
Proclaimed “one of the finest pianists in the world” (The Washington Post), Richard Goode returns to Spivey Hall with American soprano Sarah Shafer. Hailed as “a singer to watch” by Opera News, Shafer first collaborated with Goode at the Marlboro Music Festival, from which has evolved a rewarding artistic partnership. Their program features songs by Mozart, Schubert, and Fauré, as well as solo piano works by Beethoven and Debussy. A pre-concert talk with Clayton State music faculty member Dr. Kurt-Alexander Zeller begins at 2:00 p.m. and is included in the ticket price.
