Atlanta Preparedness Fair
A fair that is educational for adults and entertaining for the kids! The Atlanta Preparedness Fair will offer education and information regarding college opportunities, emergency preparedness, food and water storage, 72-hour kits, HAM radios, nutrition, self-defense, self-reliance, employment assistance, and much more. On site there will also be city departments that assist in emergencies - such as Dekalb Fire and Rescue, Dekalb Police, Dekalb Emergency Management Agency and DeKalb Board of Health-Emergency Preparedness. Other community partners of the event will be Atlanta Habitat for Humanity, AARP, the Atlanta Community Food Bank, Piedmont Healthcare and an onsite Blood Drive hosted by the American Red Cross. The Boy Scouts will host a fundraiser onsite selling concessions and lightly used items from clothing to power tools.
DJ Entertainment for the event provided by J&M Sound Design. Children will be educated and entertained as well. They can explore vehicles at the event that are used to assist in emergencies: a fire engine, a police car, and an emergency response vehicle. Also available for children at no charge will be a bouncy castle, a petting zoo, and face painting.
