CANCELED: Transcendent Yoga

Thursday March 19, 2020 08:00 AM EDT
Cost: $65-$85

From the venue:

The Carlos Museum is open, and our standard operating hours remain unchanged. However, in accordance with current Emory University policy, docent-led tours have been canceled through the end of May, and our programs have been canceled or rescheduled. Visit carlos.emory.edu for updates.

As part of Emory’s Embodied: Human Health and the Arts initiative, the Carlos Museum invites you to begin or end your day with yoga, surrounded by Manjari Sharma’s large-scale images of Lakshmi, Vishnu, Shiva and other Hindu gods and goddesses in the exhibition Transcendent Deities of India: The Everyday Occurrence of the Divine.

Salute the sun on Thursday mornings from March 19 through April 23 with Anna Leo of Emory’s Dance Department, who studied at the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute in Pune, India.

Fee for the six-week session: $65 for Carlos Museum members; $85 for nonmembers. Space is limited, and online registration is required.

Please wear comfortable, nonrestrictive clothing. Most people prefer to use their own mats, but we will offer a limited number for those who forget to bring one.
