Butterfly Festival

The butterflies are returning to the Dunwoody Nature Center this August, albeit under much different circumstances than we have grown accustomed to over the last 26 years. 

While we normally host a one-day festival attracting thousands, 2020 will feature a more intimate experience, held over the course of a week, with limited capacity timed slots. Participants will have the opportunity to experience hundreds of butterflies up close and personal in a tent set up inside our North Woods Pavilion. 

All tickets must be purchased electronically in advance. No tickets will be for sale at the door. Buy them here!

Whether you walk, bike or drive to the park, please proceed to the check-in booth in the lower level parking lot near the boardwalk path entryway to check-in and complete the health screening before heading to the North Woods Pavilion for your timed entry.

Health screenings will include a questionnaire and temperature check of each guest via contactless infrared thermometer.

Any guest that either: exhibit symptoms of COVID-19 (cough, fever of 100.4 deg F or higher, shortness of breath, chills, muscle pain, difficulty breathing, headache, sore throat or new loss of taste or smell), have any reason to believe they have COVID-19 or have any reason to believe they have been exposed to COVID-19, will not be permitted into the Butterfly Experience.

All guests ages 10 and older will be required to wear a mask while inside the Butterfly Experience and the Sun Porch where the Native Plant Sale will be held. Children and adult size masks will be for sale at the check-in booth while supplies last.
