Enjoy an evening with The Loft, online and in person, at PRIMAL, featuring Susan Easton-Burns. This newest exhibition will debut to the Metro Atlanta art community and beyond on Friday, April 2nd, 2021 from 5-9pm.

Easton-Burns seeks to convey spontaneity and intuition in every work of art, using the primal emotions and instincts she feels as she allows the paint to create an abstract underpainting, which then gives way to an image. The nature of paint is messy and Easton-Burns acknowledges that as a reminder that in nature, order comes from chaos. Every painting is an opportunity for the artist to reconnect with a more instinctual part of herself, and every viewer is given this opportunity to connect with their own feelings as well. We are a world of people that want to connect by our very nature, and Easton-Burns’s works allow each of us to find that connection.

The need for love and intimacy is a fundamental human need, as primal as the need for food, water, and air.
-Dean Ornish

Her work has been displayed in the prestigious Booth Western Art Museum and has been published in American Art Collector magazine. Easton-Burns was the featured artist for the 140th Kentucky Derby in 2014, and has been recognized in her field for her equine, bestiary, and figurative works. Artist Statement:Spontaneity and intuition are the two most important concepts I try to convey in my art. The spontaneous underpainting gives way to an image that appears intuitively. The nature of paint is messy and I like to acknowledge that. This is a reminder that in nature, order comes from chaos. While our mind-dominated world changes to a more feeling world, we struggle for balance. Every painting is an opportunity for me to reconnect with a more intuitive part of myself. Every viewer is given this opportunity to connect with their feelings as well. The people in my life help me to express pain and pleasure. Then in turn, I put that on a canvas to share with others. We are a world of people that want to connect by our very nature.I choose to paint nature because I am a part of nature. We humans are much like animals. The main difference is that animals have no fear of the future. They live their lives with great awareness and intuition.
