Armed with lyrical wit, virtuosic piano runs, and a sultry-sweet voice reminiscent of the golden age of jazz, songwriter Anita Aysola is a deft musical mixologist who seamlessly infuses jazz and blues with classic rock and traditional Indian influences. Anita’s newest album, “Beyond Our Dreams,” folds radiant flights of Indian-style improvisation, rhythm, and piano into resonant storytelling on the American experience. Her latest original single “Heartbeat,” written in response to Georgia’s abortion ban, debuted exclusively in Rolling Stone India for its powerful call to action, and is the recipient of several awards including the 2020 L.A. Music Video Award for Best Social Commentary. Anita tours nationwide with shows at high-profile venues like the Rockwood Music Hall in NYC, the Kennedy Center, and for notable figures like President Barack Obama. Currently, Anita is a regular performer in Atlanta, GA including at City Winery and the storied Eddie’s Attic. Anita is accompanied by Justin Chesarek on drums, Robby Handley on bass, and Anjaneya Sastry on tabla.
