From the venue:
A Decatur, Georgia local, Sydney Rhame cut her teeth playing Eddie’s Attic, selling out the venue several times as an acoustic singer/songwriter before turning 18. After a successful stint on NBC’s “The Voice†before her senior year in high school, at the age of 19 Sydney signed to Capitol Records as a pop artist. Five years later, she is now reemerging as an independent Americana artist focused on songwriting and storytelling.
Brock Shanks was raised in Rockmart, Georgia and spent much of his youth playing guitar in country bands, getting snuck into American Legions and bars he was too young to play. In the last decade Brock has lived in Atlanta and has worked various jobs to get by, but has written songs and collected stories all the while. His music strives to tell rich stories imbued with simple textures of everyday life.
Sydney and Brock are launching a new duet project born out of a love for each other’s music and each other. Blending Sydney’s pop singer leanings with Brock’s Americana singer-songwriter style, this new project aims to hit you right in the gut.
