Sebastian Mikael wasn’t looking for success when his “Beautiful Life” went viral in 2012. It just kind of happened, he decided to take a step back and refocus. Now Mikael is in control. “Now, I don’t have fear. I don’t second-guess myself. I’ve made sure that this time around, the music is all the way me. It’s raw. It’s who I am. I want people to be inspired. The music that I have now should have been my first introduction,” says Mikael. Mikael describes his projects, I C U U C ME PT I & PT II, as “emotional” touching upon his struggle, toxic relationships, the loss of his best friend and every high and low in between. The two-EP project was fueled by the undeniable earworm and fan favorite, “Time,” which now boasts nearly 7M views on the companion visual alone. The world can only continue to expect the same raw approach to music from Mikael as he prepares for new music followed by the release of “Exit” which went on to peak at #13 and #38 on Billboard’s Adult R&B and R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay charts, respectively. Mikael has returned to unveil his latest single “Overgold”, from his EP, PHILEO. The project’s title is a Greek term which describes an emotional connection and form of love most often shown within close friendships. “I wanted to talk about love not in a romantic aspect or in a cliche way, but more as love being a foundation for who we are and as a lifestyle. When we move in love, we’re more powerful because God is Love.”
