Lauda Musicam of Atlanta’s PlayDate is an opportunity for instrumentalists and singers to learn more about historical music. This spring’s PlayDate features recorder virtuoso and Sephardic music specialist Daphna Mor, Renaissance performance practice expert Sarah Mead, and Lauda Musicam Director Jody Miller. Sessions offer in Sephardic music, monody from Western Europe and the Middle East, Renaissance modes and rhythms, the Spanish music manuscript Cancionero de Palacio, and Medieval to Baroque canons and rounds. Sessions are appropriate for musicians at all levels, as well as non-musicians who just want to learn more about music of the past.
