Back by popluar demand! Check out what our previous audience are saying about Black Girl Perfect..
The ‘Angry Black Woman’.
This is the phrase society will use to silence us, the black woman, into submission to their betrayal and abuse. Because of this stigma, black women have perfected the art of being ‘perfect’ in front of our peers and the world to avoid making others uncomfortable with our pain.
The problem with perfectionism is that it is unattainable. So what do we do when we feel we can never obtain the very thing we think we need to survive? Join Tameka as she takes you on an interactive journey of words in this multi-character monologue that leads to trauma, triumphs, and tenacity. Come learn how the chase for perfection produces people pleasing which turns into anxiety that looks like anger.
There will be love, light, and laughter mixed with hard truths.
Come for the laughter, stay for the conversation.
