Flea Circus Album Release
From the venue:
Album release for Machinator, by the Atlanta-based experimental improv group Flea Circus. Machinator was performed in a single day on August 27, 2022, a session of completely improvised pieces at Mirror Mirror Recordings, which were then edited, mixed and mastered by Spinning Whale Studios in Charleston, SC.
Flea Circus began October 27, 2020, in an infested apartment in Little 5 Points. Hannah Neal and Isaac Bishop, both active with numerous Atlanta bands, were looking for a separate musical outlet, based more on free performance, noise, and chance. After a few diy recording sessions straight to tape, the project began evolving with their first live performance at Elliott St. Pub, featuring the addition of Cooper Dozier and Henry Kellam. Gradually, more collaborators began joining the Circus, resulting in additional shows, a “Live at WREK” performance, and the session which led to the creation of Machinator. This album features a wide cast of local musicians from numerous overlapping projects, and represents a very special summer of countless basement jams which we were lucky to be able to document here, and now share with you.
