CRITIC’S PICK: ‘As You like It’ by William Shakespeare, at Shakespeare Tavern Playhouse - Rosalind, the daughter of a duke, is looking for love in all the wrong places. Fleeing her uncle’s court to find succor in the Forest of Arden, the play’s heroine stumbles upon the melancholy traveler Jaques, utterer of the famous line: “All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely players. They have their exits and their entrances, and one man in his time plays many parts.” Dukes, jesters, courtiers, wrestlers, pages and musicians also emerge in this skillfully plotted pastoral comedy, written in 1599. The Atlanta production is directed by Laura Cole and features Gracie Wallace as Rosalind, both of whom will be part of a post-show Q&A session with cast members on Sunday, July 14. - Kevin C. Madigan

From the venue:

“All the world’s a stage . . .”

We invite you to join us on a trip into Shakespeare’s enchanted woods. . . where Rosalind disguises herself as a man as Orlando litters the trees with love notes praising her beauty and virtue. Will the two lovers be united? Will Orlando survive the wrestling match? Will you have a great time? There’s no better place to find out than at The Shakespeare Tavern Playhouse this summer!
