Trans & Friends--Adult Group
Please check the venue or ticket sales site for the current pricing.
From the venue:
This is a group for people 18+ and is welcoming to people who are in any stage of their journey including people who are in their 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, and beyond, who are questioning their gender or just now coming out as trans in adulthood. The space is open to aspiring allies, spouses, and partners as well. We provide a facilitated space to discuss gender, relevant resources, and activism around social issues. Whether silently or aloud, please come ready to consider your own gender in a transient world.
This group is facilitated by Charis Circle Executive Director, E.R. Anderson, and guest facilitators.
Executive Director, Errol “E.R.” Anderson (pronouns: they/them or he/him) manages the programming, fiscal, and daily operations of Charis Circle, and is always interested in the ways our communities can share skills and resources. A native Atlantan, E.R. came to Charis as one of the founding members of the Young Writer’s Group in 1997 and has enjoyed helping build connections between communities of activists, artists, and academics in this city ever since. E.R. co-facilitates the Race-Conscious Parenting Collective and the Gender Creative Parenting Collective because he knows that when children receive a strong foundation in justice and liberation, they go on to change the world in unexpected and beautiful ways. When not running around Charis, E.R. loves reading, writing, taking care of his dogs, playing in the woods, and learning about classic cars and trucks.
If you are the parent of a trans or gender non-conforming child looking for resources to support your child, please check out our parents support group, The Gender Creative Parenting Collective and our group for teens--Trans and Friends Youth Group for 12-18 year olds.
