About this event
Event lasts 4 days 7 hours

This Summer, The Wren’s Nest is bringing back the Scribes Summer Camp session for middle school students from July 8 to 12. Students are invited to embark on a literary adventure, developing the craft of writing and sharpening their storytelling skills in workshops led by local teaching artist and published author Hugh D. Hunter.

Every day, campers will be treated to exclusive insights from guest speakers across the storytelling genre, including journalists, musicians, performers, and creative writers, as they unveil the secrets behind their success.

Camp will conclude with a Scribes Showcase, creating a platform for our young storytellers to celebrate their creative talents with their family and friends.

About SCRIBES

At The Wren’s Nest, our mission is to cultivate the next generation of writers and readers by championing the power of using your voice to tell your story. The Scribe program was first created in 2010 to connect middle-grade students to creative writing education and mentorship.

This year’s week-long summer camp session is open to middle-grade students in Georgia. Spaces are limited to 15 students, and admission will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis. The $300 registration fee for students includes workshop attendance, museum admission, a notebook and writing utensil, and light refreshments.
