Event Description

It's not often an artist like Aaron Cole comes along. With his incredible cadence and lyrical dexterity, the chart-topping Christian rapper, singer, and songwriter is proof that hard work and dedication can perfect your craft and make dreams come true. His exciting new full-length album, Sorry, I Changed on RCAInspiration (which features the tracks "Have Your Way" and "I Love It"), slated for release this spring, is an epic and profound inspirational project full of self-reflection and spiritual growth. Thealbum will garner new fans for the hip-hop artist and solidify those who have been there all along, appreciating his rhythmic flow and genius verses.
Born in Bristol, Virginia, Cole started rapping at 3 years old. It was at his father's bustling recording studio, where a young Cole attended nearly every session, taking everything in and rapping verses back to his father. His love of rap and gospel grew deeper day by day, and at just the age of 4, he broke into the industry, releasing his first album, Jesus Is the Rock, as an independent artist in 2003.
By 12, Cole knew exactly what he wanted to do with his life "” be a Christian rapper. "I really honed into my craft and started rehearsing and writing songs every day. I started to develop myself and I grinded every day. "The hard work paid off because at 15, following a deal with Gotee Records (the label of renowned Christian artist TobyMac) and a move to Nashville, Cole released two albums, Not by Chance in2017 and Two Up Two Down in 2019. The albums garnered three number-one hit singles on Billboard Christian charts (including "Right on Time"), two Dove Awards (he became the first hip hop artist to win New Artist of the Year in 2019), and a Stellar Award nomination. While other teens spent their formative years hanging out with friends or attending football games, Cole was touring the world with TobyMac on the Hits Deep Tour. It was a thrilling experience for Cole, one he wouldn't trade for anything.
Now, with the latest album, Sorry, I Changed (which features masterful production from Saint X, Lynx, and 1995), Cole is wiser and more reflective. He's a married man now, but he's also lost a few loved ones along the way, including his beloved grandmother. Life has made him grow up. "My other projects were me having fun, figuring out my sound and what I wanted to talk about. I was blessed to be successful and do the things I could, like travel the world, but I was still figuring things out," he says. "This time around, I've had all kinds of changes, and I've realized that life changes you as you go through real-life situations."
Sorry, I Changed is a candid, mighty collection of 13 well-written, introspective, head-bopping tracks, making it a no-skip gem that will give any listener an unforgettable audible experience. Cole is an inspirational advocate on each track, encouraging self-love and divine conviction in life's everyday challenges. Whether skillfully rapping or showing his excellent vocal range, Cole is about striving for positivity and embracing joy through faith and devotion to God. "Have Your Way," the first single released earlier this year as part of his music bundle Signing Bonus, along with the track "Tables Turned" contains a sample of Carl Thomas' R&B hit "I Wish," and on it Cole croons, "Have your way/ Lord please why don'tcha just have your way/I know you have a plan for me/When I'm with you, I can do all things"¦"
His latest single, "I Love It," is an entire vibe in which Cole sings, ""¦I love it/Look at my life/I love it/Ain't had to think twice/I love it/Don't you change the subject/I love it/So sorry I changed/That's just the price of the fame"¦" The song is a testament to Cole's deep faith in God, which has made him the gifted, multitalented artist he is and the spiritual, constantly evolving man he is. "When you start to change and give your life to God, there's some remorse. You can't do some of the things you used to do or hang with the people you used to," he says. "It's kind of like, sorry, but I've changed. For you to reach the next level or the place that God has called you to reach, you have to change." And then there are the collaborations: The energetic "SBTN," featuring Kirk Franklin, with its strong, bouncing beat, and the beautifully charming "Infinity," featuring DOE, are both impressive standouts. From "Refuge," where Cole feels assured that God has his back, to "Proof," where he says he needs to testify that God has been faithful in this life, it is pretty evident that God is a powerful sanctuary forthe artist.
Cole has been extremely busy since he came onto the scene. Between 2012 and 2023, Cole released several other projects, including the album 4th Period (2012), the EPs Fifteen Is the New XV (2014), If I Can Be Honest (2016), Virginia Boy (2018), The Other Side (2018), AOTY (2020), Only U Forever and 4 (2020), and the single "Together" which was featured on the critically acclaimed multi-artist album A New Heaven And A New Earth. He also enjoyed many accolades due to his eclectic, exceptional mix of Christian hip-hop and R&B. His songs have been featured in theNetflix original series, "On My Block," among other prominent sync placements, including promos for ESPN and Fox Sports, and he's been named one of 16 Top Gospel Artists to Watch by Essence Magazine, and one of five Teen Rappers to Watch by Rapzilla.com. In addition to those achievements, Cole has shared the stage with Da' T.R.U.T.H., KB, Canton Jones, Social Club, Joshua Rogers, Flame, K-Drama, Gospel Gangsters, Tye Tribbett, Ben Tankard, Ricky B & 4given, B. Cooper, Ramiah, Ziglag Boys, and more.
Sorry, I Changed is full of inspirational, goose-bump-inducing tracks, and it's definitely Aaron Cole's best work yet. It's a fresh, fearless, and remarkable melodic journey into his world, one which we never want to leave. What makes him different from other artists, besides his honest, sincere lyrics and his passionate delivery, is his ability to successfully merge the hip-hop, R&B, and inspirational music genres. He wants his music to make an uplifting difference in people's lives, which speaks volumes. "I want to change the trajectory and the outlook on Christian music and positive music ingeneral. I want my music to give people hope and be relatable. I want it to help people get through this life," he says. "When people come up to me and tell me that they didn't listen to Christian music before, but now my music has changed their walk with God "” that's exactly why I continue to do what I do.
