CRITIC’S PICK: La Lom, National Reserve, Terminal West—Their name is short for Los Angeles League of Musicians and they appear at this larger venue after just one show at the more intimate EARL a few months ago. The all-instrumental trio mixes surf with noir, Spaghetti Western sounds, tropicalia, Latin topped with a large heaping of reverb to create soundtracks to movies that haven’t been made yet but you’ll want to see when they are. Classy, retro and cool. — Hal Horowitz

From the venue:

The Los Angeles League of Musicians, LA LOM, are an instrumental trio formed in Los Angeles in 2021. They blend the sounds of Cumbia Sonidera, 60’s soul ballads and classic romantic boleros that emanate from radios, backyard parties and dance clubs of Los Angeles with the twang of Peruvian Chicha and Bakersfield Country.
