CRITIC’S PICK: Sarah Shook & the Disarmers, The EARL—Country punker Shook is such a consistent visitor to this venue that there might even be a bed in the back for the tough, jagged, gender-fluid Americana musician. The band’s fourth release, Resonant arrived a few months ago and it’s yet another gritty, uncompromising set of dark twangers combining deep country with indie rock in just the right measure. Shook has cleaned up from various addictions and recent shows have been far more professional and consistent than in the past.— Hal Horowitz
