CRITIC’S PICK: Ideas Festival, Oxford College of Emory University - A whole bunch of creative types are gathering at Oxford College to debate, extrapolate and pontificate over the course of a weekend. To kick things off on Friday night, Atlanta big shot Jermaine Dupri will be chatting with Georgia Tech cultural studies scholar Dr. Joycelyn Wilson about the implications of the local music scene. Other names on the schedule include illustrator Mike Lowery, physicist Justin Burton, musicians Lee Bains and Joe Henry, journalist Bob Townsend, civil rights pioneer Will D. Campbell, scientist Dr. Yana Bromberg and numerous others in a similar vein. There will be live music and kids’ activities as well. The full list is available online.
