You’re invited to join WABE for a night at the movies to celebrate HBCUs across the country!

We will screen several new documentary short films from public media stations nationwide, including an exclusive screening of WABE’s “We Expect Nothing Less: The Benjamin E. Mays Story” as part of HBCU Week NOW.

Following the films, a panel discussion moderated by WABE’s host of Morning Edition, Lisa Rayam, with Dr. Illya Davis, Professor of Philosophy at Morehouse College, Rev. Dr. Herman “Skip” Mason, Interim President of The Historic Interdenominational Theological Center (ITC), and Grace Barlow, Spelman Student and Emmy Award Winning Journalist.

These films are made possible through a public media partnership led by Maryland Public Television with support from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. #HBCUWeekNOW
