Please check the venue or ticket sales site for the current pricing.
From the venue:
Andrea Stumpf JD, is not only a lawyer at the World Bank, she is the descendant of the Sayyid, or Arabian princess, of Zanzibar, Sayyida Ruete, who was a daughter of the ruler of Zanizbar and Oman Sayyid Sa’id bin Sultan (d. 1856). She will tell the remarkable story of her ancestor who wrote a revealing memoir about her time growing up in the palace of her father in Stone Town only to leave her homeland and moving to Europe after marrying a German visitor. Her story crosses east and west, Europe and Africa and Arabia and provides and unparalleled window into the lives of women in East Africa and the Arab/Islamic world at the time.
