The Carlos Museum and the Native American Indigenous Studies Initiative invites food historians, chefs, and ethnobotanists to lead cooking demonstrations centered on Indigenous ingredients, foods, and contemporary reimagining of traditional dishes.
Space is limited, registration is required.
Participants may register for both, but registrations must be completed separately. Members - $15 per class, Nonmembers - $20 per class.
Nephi Craig (White Mountain Apache and Diné) has over 26 years of culinary experience. He is the founder of the Native American Culinary Association (NACA), an organization dedicated to the research, refinement, and development of Native American cuisine. His workshop will be held from 1-3 p.m.
Rob Kineen, born and raised Alaskan chef, is the outreach director with North American Traditional Indigenous Food Systems. He is recognized by many as the authority on Alaska regional cuisine. His workshop will be held from 4-6 p.m.
