Happy Holidays! The annual Atlanta Blues Society Holiday Party is our way of saying “Thank You” for your support as a member/sponsor. This year’s holiday party will again be in Sandy Springs at the Dorothy C. Benson Multipurpose Complex, Building B, 6500 Vernon Woods Drive, Sandy Springs, GA 30328.
Buffet provided by Fat Matt’s is free for members and sponsors, non-members will be charged $15 for the buffet. Cash Bar will be available. This event is Non-smoking, kid friendly, with plenty of parking, and lots of dancing room! There will be several door prizes so make sure to check in at the membership table to get your Door Prize ticket. Also, Santa will be dropping by for a special visit!!
Please bring at least one new, unwrapped toy for the Marines to take back to the Toys for Tots headquarters for distribution to kids in need. We will collect the toys at the entrance to the party. Last year, we sent the Marines on their way with a full vanload — let’s do it again!
Music is what your Atlanta Blues Society is all about, and we’ll have plenty for your listening and dancing pleasure. The winners from this year’s Atlanta Blues Challenge will play for us – Youth Act Winner Time Crunch, followed by Solo/Duo Winner, Cash’s Juke Joint Duo; and then Band Winner, The Garrett Collins Project. These acts will be representing us at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Jan 7-11. 2025.
We will be presenting the winners with their prize money and will be collecting tips from you. The ABS will match the tips collected, so please make sure to bring cash and be generous. These funds will help offset the costs for their trip and stay in Memphis.
The party is also the annual kick-off for our Membership Renewal drive – it’s a great time to renew your membership or sponsorship. Beat the inevitable renewal rush that always occurs in January and February! Just see us at the membership table.
