Boxcar Radio is a known force in Atlanta’s Americana scene. Emerging from the Jason Isbell/Son Volt/Wilco landscape, Boxcar Radio is a local super group. Lead singer/songwriter Rodney Bond’s stories of forlorn unrequited love ring with classic depictions of American life backed with harmonies that are Boxcar Radio’s signature sound. Guitarist Mark Evers provides the coloring with understated echoes of rock and country. With Jeff Hall on bass guitar, Mark Abrahams on keys and Don Olsen on drums, the rhythm section keeps the train on the tracks with a variety of styles that complete the band’s ever evolving sound.
