Chef Chance gives an overview of the basic steps applied in making small-batch jams and preserves. She demonstrates two recipes that feature an herbal component to highlight ways to tailor your jams and preserves to any season. Each student receives a small jar of one along with recipes and inspiration to try at home. This class is designed for people new to preserving, and please note that it doesn’t cover long term storage or water bath canning.

Chef Chance has been teaching small classes in the Edible Garden Outdoor Kitchen since 2013, including homemade pie making, canning, jam-making, cooking with herbs, aquafaba, and many more. Her approachable recipes and style lean into seasonal ingredients and focus on demystifying popular ingredients for use in everyday cooking.
