Chris O’Leary, Blind Willie’s—After years struggling on small indie imprints, last year singer/harp player O’Leary finally got the call from established veteran blues label Alligator to join their team. The release of his debut for them, The Hard Line, has raised his visibility substantially with a solid recording that brings O’Leary’s soulful vocals and swampy tunes to a larger audience. He played here a few months ago and returns for another night of gutsy, greasy bluesy rocking with some New Orleans second line thrown in. Great stuff. — Hal Horowitz
