Davy Knowles, Avon Theatre — UK (actually Isle of Man) blues rocker Knowles was initially the frontman for Back Door Slam but has been solo for over a decade. He has earned the praises of other guitar icons like Joe Satriani and Peter Frampton, the latter producing an earlier album of his, and has toured fronting Rory Gallagher’s old band. While his recorded work is good, seeing him tear it up live is a whole other experience. He supports a recent album The Invisible Man, one of his finest. — Hal Horowitz
