Marvel at a modern animated classic at ‘The Iron Giant’ SCADshow screening and discussion
From the venue:
In 1957 Maine, nine-year-old Hogarth makes the find of a lifetime: a gigantic robot that has rocketed down to Earth from space. When a paranoid government agent and the U.S. military descend on the town to find the alien visitor, Hogarth tries to protect the genial giant from discovery and disaster. With its perfect blend of heart, metal, and magic, The Iron Giant ranks among the greatest animated films of its era, a timeless tale that continues to inspire audiences of all ages.
Join SCADFILM for a special look at the making of the classic animated film with special guest William H. Frake III, a longtime story artist and character designer who served as the 1999 film’s layout director. The conversation with Frake will begin at 6 p.m., followed by the screening at 6:30 p.m.
Tickets for the film, part of the SCAD Cinema Circle series, are free for SCAD students, faculty, and staff, and $10 for the general public.
