Billy Idol: It's A Nice Day To...Tour Again! Pres. By 97.1 The River

CRITIC’S PICK
Fri. May 9
Billy Idol, Joan Jett, Ameris Bank Amphitheater — Unbeknownst to most folks other than the hardest core Billy Idol fans, the UK rocker has recorded some impressive albums since his ‘80s Rebel Yell heyday, 40 years ago. But there haven’t been a lot of them. Last month’s new Dream Into It was his first full set in a decade (there were some EPs in between), and few are coming to hear even the best songs from those. Nevertheless Idol, now 70, delivers the crunchy riffing goods live. Those old hits will get even the most lackadaisical listeners off their chairs, longtime collaborator/guitarist Steve Stevens remains a key component, and between iconic opener Jett and the headliner, you’ll get your hard rocking money’s worth. — Hal Horowitz
