Malcolm X, the iconic, charismatic Black Muslim human rights activist was born on May 19, 1925, and this year marks his 100th bday celebration. In honor of this significant milestone, Soul Cinema Sundays presents Spike Lee's most powerful film, "Malcolm X" (1992) starring Academy-award-winning actor Denzel Washington in the title role. The independent biographical drama was co-written by Spike Lee and based largely on the 1965 book "The Autobiography of Malcolm X" by Alex Haley. The star-studded cast includes Angela Bassett, Al Freeman Jr., Delroy Lindo, Lonnette McKee, Giancarlo Esposito, and Phyllis Yvonne Stickley. After the film, Kalonji Changa, of Black Power Media, will speak with local Muslim Leaders about Malcolm's life and how we can honor his legacy in everyday life.Soul Cinema Sundays screens Spike Lee's "Malc... | 05/18/2025 8:00 PM
