Atlanta Blues Society Monthly Meetup, Bundo’s Music Shack: Sweet Melissa’s Blues Revue handles the live tunes, and the rest is up to the blues fans, who have flocked to these monthly meetings for years. It’s a meet and greet for old timers and new faces who are interested in getting closer to the active Atlanta blues scene. The closing jam — where talented fans bring their instruments and strut their stuff — is always an event highlight.— Hal Horowitz

It should be another great annual picnic with something for everyone! Carl Friese, owner and Chef from The Village Corner German Restaurant will be serving Fresh Off the Grill with Sides that Hit the Right Note! Also for purchase (@RealCrepesAtl) will be making sweet and savory crepes to order… and to top it off… Sip into paradise with a real fruit smoothie (@kd_smoothies).
Best of all, our Picnic music will be provided by the phenomenal Sweet Melissa’s Blues Review with Lefty Williams joining her band for this event. This blues band features vocalist Melissa Goehner who will take you on a journey from Janis Joplin to Aretha Franklin to Koko Taylor and more!
We will have a jam, so bring your instruments & voices and show us what you’ve got. We will have our usual raffles going on, which benefits our Blue Flame Fund to help local musicians in need. Totally free and open to the public and kids are welcome.
Bring your chairs and coolers and as we will be outside please check the weather conditions before you head out. Don’t forget to bring your sunscreen, hats, insect repellent, fans and rain gear just in case. As always, this event is Smoke-Free so please do not smoke in the seated area.
