Kelsey Waldon, She Returns from War, Eddie Owen Presents at Red Clay—It’s the Every Ghost tour, titled after the retro-inspired, swampy, country singer/songwriter Waldon’s recent album. Her yearning, commanding voice, classic honky-tonk influences and stunning, often poetic and always incisive songwriting has made her one of the most respected voices in the next generation of Dolly/Loretta-inspired artists. Rhree previous albums are filled with should-be classics and her band, which includes fiddle and pedal steel, is top notch. She carries on a pure C&W tradition that others like Emily Nenni, Margo Price and Sierra Ferrell have kept burning, introducing these archetypal sounds with occasional contemporary twists, to a younger set of fans.
