From the venue:

Celebrate the opening of Continuum at the Carlos Museum with artists Johnnie Diacon (Muscogee Creek Nation) and Hotvlkuce Harjo (Muscogee Creek Nation) in conversation with Curator of Indigenous Arts of the Americas, Miranda Kyle.

Continuum explores Indigenous futurisms, highlighting how traditional knowledge remains a living, evolving practice that shapes contemporary and future realities. Both artists examine the intersection of tradition, present, and future, creating narratives that challenge static perceptions of Indigenous cultures.

Before the program, meet with an archivist and view political documents—including letters, speeches, and hymns from 1775 to 1979—from the Stuart A. Rose Manuscript, Archives, and Rare Book Library.

Free and open to the public; registration required. On view August 21–December 7, 2025, in the John Howett Works on Paper Galleries. Galleries open 5–7 p.m.; Rose Library materials viewable 6:30–7 p.m. in the Jones Room at Woodruff Library.
