In this panel we would explore how essential it is for artists to diversity their skillset in order to navigate the independent film industry. We will cover our journeys from acting to writing to directing to producing and all the glad handing in-between that is necessary for a career in the field of low-budget filmmaking.

Panelists:

Vanessa Claire Stewart is an award winning actor/playwright for her work on Louis and Keely Live at the Sahara. (2010 Ovation award, best musical Geffen Playhouse) Her published play Stoneface about Buster Keaton was critically acclaimed and won the 2008 Production of the Year in at the Los Angeles Stage Raw awards.

French Stewart is best known for his work on the classic T.V. series Third Rock From The Sun. Most recently, he appeared as Chef Rudy for 8 seasons on Chuck Lorre’s hit show Mom with Allison Janney. He has also appeared on Seinfeld, The Larry Sanders Show, Just Shoot Me, Trial and Error, The Drew Carey Show, News Radio, Community, Psych, Bones, The Closer, Castle, Pushing Daisies, Private Practice, Roseanne, Limetown, Deadly Class, Leverage, and recurring roles on Will Trent, The Middle, NCIS, Secrets & Lies and Chicago Med.
