The Brook and the Bluff, Cassandra Coleman, Variety Playhouse - Dubbed "The Werewolf Tour," its name referencing an album released this month, the strummy Birmingham, Alabama-bred Americana quartet is loaded with new material. They missed the best time to debut their single, "Super Bowl Sunday," by a month, but their melodically driven songs, many influenced by the '70s Laurel Canyon scene, highlight an easy-flowing, fresh-faced retro pop that's just as Americancentric. Live they'll likely crank up the energy a few notches, but these tunes generally float and glide on strong vocals and creative hooks that kick in on first hearing. - Hal Horowitz
