Wolfmother - 20Th Anniversary Tour

Wolfmother, Love Gang, Buckhead Theatre - It's the 20th anniversary for these Australian hard rockers, led by frontman/founder/guitarist and only stable member Andrew Stockdale. About a dozen other musicians have come and gone in that time, but the basic meat and potatoes rock has stayed as consistent as that of their fellow countrymen AC/DC. Over the decades the trio has garnered a bunch of ARIA awards (Australia's GRAMMY®), and even nabbed a US GRAMMY® in 2007 for Best Hard Rock Performance. Some consider their leathery, guitar-driven attack heavy metal, but it's tempered with Alice Cooper-inflected melodies, Zepp/Plant-like vocals and just enough pop hooks of the Cheap Trick variety to push them outside that genre. Since this is billed as a birthday gig, expect a rundown of their more popular tracks dating back to the 2006 debut. - Hal Horowitz
