Patrick Radden Keefe in conversation with Virginia Prescott - London Falling
Thu., Apr. 9
CRITIC’S PICK:
London Falling author Patrick Radden Keefe, Glenn Memorial Auditorium at Emory — In the early hours of Nov. 29, 2019, the body of a British teenager named Zac Brettler was pulled from the Thames. The subsequent investigation led by Scotland Yard revealed that, unbeknownst to his parents and friends, the victim had been masquerading as one Zac Ismailov, the son of a deceased Russian oligarch and heir to a considerable fortune. He thus became involved with all manner of gangsters and thugs in London’s criminal underbelly while acquiring a heroin habit. And it all goes downhill from there. Patrick Radden Keefe’s book is subtitled ‘A Mysterious Death in a Gilded City and a Family’s Search for Truth’ and ‘The New York Times’ best-selling author will discuss the whole sad saga with Virginia Prescott, former host of GPB’s ‘On Second Thought.’ — Kevin C. Madigan
