The Atlanta Freethought Society is proud to have Nick Fish, president of American Atheists, as our first speaker of 2026.  Nick has worked across the spectrum of political, social, and non-profit advocacy. 

He has been with American Atheists since 2012, first as development director, then as national program director and primary spokesperson, and now as President of the organization since 2018.  A Michigan native, Nick studied political science at Albion College before managing a voter outreach office that registered more than 5,000 new voters and knocked on over 25,000 doors during the 2008 election cycle.

Since 2015, Nick has represented American Atheists in the media, including appearances on Fox News.  He has been quoted by the Washington Post, CNN, Time, Newsweek, and AP.  He has created innovative advocacy and visibility campaigns, including AtheistVoter, and has developed messaging and strategy around American Atheists’ legal, public policy, and outreach campaigns.
