Tommy Womack, Jeff Evans' Porkestra, Star Bar - Singer/songwriter and author (Cheese Chronicles: The True Story of a Rock 'n Roll Band You Never Heard Of) Womack writes witty, sometimes funny, often heartfelt, and occasionally all three, folk/pop ditties. His music is even more touching and humorous as he ages and looks forward to the next phase of life as an older dude still out there on one-night stands ("I'm a minor rock star with a bell on my balls" he sings on last year's rocking "Speed, Weed and Alcohol"). You'll surely hear that and plenty more from his recent Live a Little, his ninth release, that's as terrific as anything he has recorded. Local loony Evans delivers ragged rocking about "animals, food, and girls" (his words) makes a perfect opener. - Hal Horowitz
